Bio
Rebecca Collins
"I studied fine art at North Texas University and earned my B.F.A. in 1985. My fascination with the computer of course came much later while I was earning my living as an independent greeting card publisher. I know it sounds corny, and yet I have to say my journey into the world of custom pet portraits was inspired by my first Scottish Terrier, Atticus.
My work is highly layered and I work with a stylus and wacom tablet adding hand drawn lines and "paint" drips and splatters. I print on high quality materials and work hard to make each pet portrait a unique work of art. Each piece is highly detailed with rich color and texture.
I enjoy working with young designers and artists and I place a high value on education and training. Last year I started a routine called 'tutorial Fridays' where everyone in the studio ( all 3 of us) would stop our projects for an hour or longer to gather around one computer and share a tip or trick that we thought the others may not know. After working alone during my first few years in business, I really value my people and all that we can learn from each other. "
